  • How Does AmeriPlan Work?…And Does It Work?

    May 29, 2008

I get this question a lot.  Just last night (yes I work late) a lady called me and asked “so how does this dental plan work?”

I was happy for one that she didn’t say “insurance” but she knows we’re not insurance because she recieves our e-mail newsletter.  But in answering the question “How does Ameriplan work?”

In general, your Ameriplan discount card acts like a Sam’s Club membership for dentists and doctors.  You present your card, (like when you walk into Sam’s) get the service you need, and pay a discounted rate when you’re done.  That’s it. And you don’t have to get sick “in bulk” to use it.  Use it for small or large services.

Example. Instead of a crown costing you $860… the dentists gives it to you for $500.  Instead of paying $100 for a filling you pay $45.  Periodoc exams are only $12.  Everything from x-rays to Specialists are discounted when you use the Ameriplan discount card.  I love it.

Note: These are Oklahoma prices. Call me and we’ll look up the discounts for your state.  (918) 512-4930

It’s less than $20/mo for the household.

I personally use the health plan too… just recently saved $245 on blood work.  Instead of paying retail ($366) for it, I only paid $121.  Think I wasn’t a happy camper.

That’s the basics of how the dental and health works.  Of course we can get in depth but we’ll just take it one step at a time.

You can always ask a specific question if you want and I’ll give you the answer.

Everything is also covered in your provider book that you get when you get your cards and there’s a full 30 day money back guarantee.

So go get your teeth fixed!

    AmeriPlan Auto Club Exceeds Expectations

    May 18, 2008

Did you know AmeriPlan has an auto club? My wife and I used it last Thursday for the first time.  My car died in the dry cleaners parking lot.

Scrolling through my cell phone to call a ride, I ran across the auto club number and remembered it’s included in our AmeriPlan Total Health Plus membership… Duh!

    Here’s how it worked:

    1) I called the #800
    2) The operator asked for my AmeriPlan member ID and said the AmeriPlan auto club gave us the first $50 free and at least 25% off any charges above that.
    3) I told him where we were, the make, model and color of the car.
    4) He said a truck will arrive in 50 minutes or less. (like pizza delivery)

That could have been it but…

I ALWAYS want to know what we’re really saving so I called Storey Wrecker  to see how much it would really cost.  Storey Wrecker quoted: $55 hook-up fee, $3 per mile and 23% fuel charge. A total of at least $71.34.  So how much do you think it cost?

15 minutes later the lady from Storey Wrecker called us back saying they have an agreement AmeriPlan’s contractor and our towing would be FREE and we can use road side assistance up to 5 times per year.

The guy from Storey Wrecker showed up, towed our car, we signed the paper and he drove away.  How sweet is that!

Welcome, From The Dental Plan Man

    May 14, 2008

Hello world!  It’s official… actually unofficial.  Let me start by saying this blog is NOT an official Ameriplan web site.   THIS SITE IS NOT ENDORSED BY AMERIPLAN CORPORATION.

My name is Clarence Fisher, Jr. (Tulsa, OK).  I’m an Independent Business Owner with AmeriPlan.  I’ve helped many families and small businesses save tons of money over the last 3 1/2 years using AmeriPlan’s discount health programs.  I am a product of the product.  In fact it’s all I use myself for health care.  My wife and kids have “health insurance”.

I’ve talked to and recorded lots of testimonies over the years and it just hit me the other day… What better way to share these stories, techniques and tips to other AmeriPlan members (current and prospective), than to start a blog and give my clients an outlet to share their experiences and learn from each other.

Let’s have some fun.  I will help as much as I can with any questions you have about using AmeriPlan.

AmeriPlan Discount Programs ARE NOT INSURANCE.
