  • AmeriPlan Reduced Our Hospital Bill From $30,000 To $0.00

    July 28, 2008

Here’s yet another testimonial about AmeriPlan’s Patient Advocacy Program.  It really is a powerful program.  If you don’t have any coverage at all because you either can’t afford it or can’t qualify this may be the program for you.  Read on.

“My parents moved from France to Atlanta in January 2007 and I signed them up with AmeriPlan.  They were not sure what the benefits were for them.  In March 2007, my Dad had a stroke and spent one week in the hospital.  We received the bill, over $16,000.  Three weeks later, my Dad had pneumonia.  Four days in the same hospital, $15,000.  Now over $30,000, my parents, as retirees, were waiting for an answer from AmeriPlan.  My Dad received a letter stating that his balance at this time was $0.00.  We couldn’t believe it but I thought I would share this with you… ” - Ghislaine S.

Does AmeriPlan Health Qualify As A State Mandated Insurance Program?

    July 1, 2008

Okay.  This happened to me a few months ago.  We signed a guy up for an AmeriPlan Health program for his son who didn’t live with him.  His son lived in another state with the guy’s ex-wife.  This is not uncommon at all.  Lots of people call us to get AmeriPlan Health for their kids that have just graduated high school or family members who just need a little extra help.

What made this situation different is the reasonhe was getting the AmeriPlan Health program for his son.  The state he lived in mandated that along with paying child support, the father must have an insurance policy in place for the child.  He chose AmeriPlan Health.

Well, when he got his cards in the mail and went to the DHS office to show proof that he had a plan in place, he was rejected.

Of course.  Why didn’t I think of that.

Remember what the number one thing I keep telling you to keep in mind is. Yep, give that guy a cookie!  AmeriPlan Health is NOT insurance…. I knew that.

I ended up apologizing to the guy and giving him his money back.  We’re still friends though and It was a lesson well learned.  We’ve gotten several calls since then from people in the exact same situation.  So to answer your question.

No.  As of present, AmeriPlan Health does NOT qualify.

I do know that AmeriPlan will definitely be pushing to have AmeriPlan Health included in any type of Universal Health Care program that may be implemented on a federal scale… but for right now… If your state is making it mandatory for you to have health “insurance” we can’t help you. Sorry:(

I saved $495.98 On Eye Glasses Using AmeriPlan Dental Plus

Here’s an often overlooked benefit of having the AmeriPlan Dental Plus program.  The AmeriPlan Dental Plus program, as it’s title suggests, comes with more than just dental benefits… It’s more than just a dental plan.  You also get Vision, Prescription and Chiropractic benefits with it.  Check out this testimonial:

“I recently went to Sears Optical to purchase a pair of eyeglasses.  The glasses I selected are what I call “Cadillac” level…transitional lenses, non-glare, scratch resistant, thin lens, UV protection.  The price would have been $548.99…but, with my AmeriPlan discount I paid $258.00!  So, I went ahead and bought a second pair of reading glasses.  The total for both before my discount was $877.98….I paid $382.00 for 2 pair of eyeglasses!!!  Thank you AmeriPlan!!!”        - L. Straker

That’s great to hear “L.S.”  So there you have it.  Remember the AmeriPlan Dental Plus program comes with Dental, Vision, Prescription and Chiropractic.

I saved 65% On Lab Fees With AmeriPlan Health

Here’s the deal.  I’m a pretty healthy guy.  At least I’d like to think so.  My wife had been bugging me for months that I need to go get a check up.  You know… complete blood work, exams, the whole bit.  I agreed with her like good husbands always do.  Yes, dear.  But I had no intention on doing it anytime soon.

See, to me going to the doctor when you don’t absolutely have to is like asking for trouble.  You know how you can take your car in for a routine oil change and before you know it you need new rotors, transmission seals, an oil pan gasket, belts, hoses and a hemi-spherical rear axle proton manipulator. (huh)

You get my point.  So I put it off as long as I could.  Finally, I got to thinking what if…  I’ve talked to thousands of people about AmeriPlan Health and I’ve had more people than I care to count call me “after” somethings happened to them.  After they were transported to the emergency room.  After they were admitted into the hospital. And I couldn’t do anything for them because it was “after” the fact.

I started wondering, as I always do, why, since they would save upwards of 50% on the exams and blood work… why didn’t they get AmeriPlan Health and just do it.  Just get checked out.  Maybe the doctor could have caught whatever was wrong with them before it got so ugly.

Yep.  You guessed it.  I started thinking about me.  What the heck am I waiting for?  That would be a tragic irony wouldn’t it. So I made the appointment and went.  My visit was $45 and instead of paying $366 dollars for the blood work, I paid $121.  Yeah baby!!!!

How did I do it.  I’ll let Fred Gobbs tell you about his story.  We both took the same steps to make it happen.  Take away Fred…

“My existing insurance would not cover my annual physical examination now would it cover any of the lab work which comprised of a total of 7 tests of which the cost was going to be $984.00  I forwarded the required tests to Medstat and over the phone they quoted me $297.00  I paid it with my credit card, they faxed me the form I needed to carry to the lab after setting the appointment, my wait was less than 20 minutes!  The lab sent the reports to Medstat, they faxed them to me and my doctor and I was thrilled!  That was a savings of $651.00 and I have insurance that I couldn’t use!           -Fred Gibbs, SRSD
