How do I change dentists? (AmeriPlan Dental)
August 29, 2008
Here’s a thought. You like the AmeriPlan dental plan. You like your AmeriPlan rep. You DON’T like the AmeriPlan dentist he/she referred you to. Maybe you just don’t ‘click’ with them. How hard is it to change dentists with AmeriPlan dental? Just type www.ProviderSearch.AmeriplanUSA.cominto your Internet browser’s address bar and choose another AmeriPlan dentist. Another option is to call AmeriPlan dental Member Services at (469) 229-4501.
I will say, though, it’s best to establish yourself and your family members as a patient with an AmeriPlan Dental Network dentist as soon as possible. That way if you have a dental emergency you’ll already be a patient and the dentist will already have your records.
Speaking of records, if you’re changing dentists, be sure to ask for your x-rays. No dentist in their right mind (AmeriPlan dentists meet all the state board requirements for the state in which they practice) will do any work on you without taking x-rays. So you can either bring the one’s you’ve already paid for or pay to have them done again with the new dentist. Just FYI.

How much of a discount will I receive on dental services with Ameriplan Dental Plus?
August 28, 2008
Personally, I think when people see the ’save up to 80%” on our brochure they get a litle suspicious. I mean come on, if AmeriPlan Dental Plus saved you 80% EVERYONE would be a member right? Right. The truth of the matter is AmeriPlan Dental Plus can save you up to 80%, but savings that high are usually associated with preventative care like routine cleanings, which are only $12 with AmeriPlan Dental where I live.
Makes you think twice about the ”2 free cleanings per year” other people are getting with their $80/mo dental plan doesn’t it. The true breakdown of savings you can expext are as follows:
-
You save 25% - 65% on all restorative and cosmetic work (fillings, crowns, braces, etc.)
- You save up to 80% on preventative work (teeth cleaning, x-rays, etc.) performed by a general dentist.
-
You save 15% to 25% on Specialists fees (oral surgery, etc.)

Who is AmeriPlan?
August 26, 2008
According to AmeriPlan “AmeriPlan is a Discount Medical Program Organization.” According to my clients it’s “The best thing to do if you can’t afford or qualify for dental or health insurance.”
AmeriPlan has arranged for it’s members to have access to dental, vision, presciption, chiropractic and health providers who have agreed to offer their services at negotiated discounts off their usual and customary fees.
Services are paid for at the time of service, therefore you only pay for what you need… and you pay “less”.
AmeriPlan is not “insurance” and in no way should you think about replacing your health insurance with AmeriPlan. If you have health insurance keep it. You’re lucky. If you can get health insurance get it. If you can’t get health insurance give us a call. We can help.
How can AmeriPlan Dental Plus save me 50% on dental braces?
August 25, 2008
This is one of the most valuable benefits of the AmeriPlan Dental Plus program if you’re looking for braces for you or your kids. Where I live braces can cost around $5,000 ($4,500 for children) and AmeriPlan’s contracted cost with the dentist is $2,200 ($2,000 for children). And in most cases payment arrangements are made at around $100/mo. That’s Incredible.
How can this be done? Through the buying power of the 1.5 million members of AmeriPlan’s Dental Plus program and the fact that treatment is rendered by specially trained ‘general’ dentists in your area.
It is common misconception that the only place you can go to get dental braces is the “orthodontist”. Not so. Certain general dentists can perform the exact same procedures with equal or greater results for less. When locating a provider in the AmeriPlan Network, you want to make sure “orthodontics” is listed in the info box next to the provider’s name and contact number. You can even call them up and ask questions. (Always recommended)
You can put that couple of grand you saved in the college fund… or Disney World!

AmeriPlan Teams Up With HealthTrans To Offer Low-Cost Prescriptions
August 24, 2008
The new AmeriPlanprescription program with HealthTrans is a good thing. It’s a lot simpler now to see how much your prescriptions will cost using the AmeriPlan prescription program, which comes with the AmeriPlan Dental Plus program.
Try it out now. Go to http://providersearch.ameriplanusa.com/ or click here and then click the ‘Locate a Provider’ tab at the top. Next click the AmeriPlan Prescription program link… and start surfing for drugs! I mean pricing medications. It even shows you the pharmacies closest to you that accept the AmeriPlan card.
Very easy to use. I’m very happy with this change. Before, it got a little complicated explaining to clients how to do it. Now you can do it. Saving you time and money and allowing me help more people.
Great job AmeriPlan!
PS. If you’re paying $100 or more per month on prescriptions you may qualify for AmeriPlan’s Prescription Advovocay program allowing you to get ALL your prescriptions for $82/mo. no matter how many you take!
