  • Using AmeriPlan Health for cancer treatment

    October 17, 2008

Today I got a call that really touched my heart.  I’ve been selling AmeriPlan dental and health programs for a while so I knew this day would come.  I got a call from my friend Maxine who just found out her next door neighbor has cancer.

Maxine found out when she came home from work and saw her neighbor on the porch crying bent over in pain.  After talking with her for a moment she realized what the problem was.  Her neighbor, let’s call her Stacy, had been diagnosed with cancer, had no health insurance, and couldn’t afford the $800/mo in medications the doctor prescribed her, so she just wasn’t taking them… and she only went to see the doctor when she could scrape up enough money to do so.  She’s filed for help but that will take several months to get assistance.  She needed help now.

Maxine called and left a message for me to call back as soon as possible.  I did.

I talked to Stacy. I could hear her smiling and hope in her voice as I explained to her that AmeriPlan Health is not health insurance (which she couldn’t possibly get now, anyway) but it will make it affordable for you to see the doctor and through the AmeriPlan Patient Advocacy Program, possibly get your prescription costs down to around $100/mo.  Again this is not insurance, you’ll still have to pay the reduced fees.  Do you think this will help you?  She cried.  Yes.  I about cried too.  I heard Maxine in the background telling her “See, It’s going to be ok.”

If there was ever a “Why I do this” , this is it!  AmeriPlan allows me to help people who are hurting.  How many people can we help before our time comes.  How many lives can we make better?  Not just with AmeriPlanbut with anything we do.  Any talent, product, service or opportunity you have.  Let’s strive to make someones life easier every wonderful day that God gives us.

Can I Purchase the AmeriPlan Health program without the AmeriPlan Dental Plus program Included?

    August 19, 2008

Yes you can.  One of the great changes that have been made recently to AmeriPlan is you can now purchase only AmeriPlan Health ($29.95/mo) if that’s all you feel you need.  It is also a household membership.  With AmeriPlan Health only you’ll get the same great discounts on doctor’s visits, blood work, MRI’s, and the patient advocacy program in case you are hospitalized with a resulting bill of $2500 or more.  An excellent choice if all you need is the medical benefits.

AmeriPlan Reduced Our Hospital Bill From $30,000 To $0.00

    July 28, 2008

Here’s yet another testimonial about AmeriPlan’s Patient Advocacy Program.  It really is a powerful program.  If you don’t have any coverage at all because you either can’t afford it or can’t qualify this may be the program for you.  Read on.

“My parents moved from France to Atlanta in January 2007 and I signed them up with AmeriPlan.  They were not sure what the benefits were for them.  In March 2007, my Dad had a stroke and spent one week in the hospital.  We received the bill, over $16,000.  Three weeks later, my Dad had pneumonia.  Four days in the same hospital, $15,000.  Now over $30,000, my parents, as retirees, were waiting for an answer from AmeriPlan.  My Dad received a letter stating that his balance at this time was $0.00.  We couldn’t believe it but I thought I would share this with you… ” - Ghislaine S.

Can An AmeriPlan Health Member Who Is In The Patient Advocacy Process Cancel and Still Receive Services?

    June 26, 2008

This question rarely comes up, but it does get asked.  Let’s say you were admitted to the hospital, had several high cost surgeries, or maybe the hospital doctors were able to patch you up and send you home but the bill came out to $15,000.

Let’s then say you’re going through the AmeriPlan patient advocacy process and the hospital (working with your AmeriPlan assigned patient advocate) is going to allow you to pay the hugely discounted rate of $3,000 at $75 per month to satisfy that bill.

Can you cancel your AmeriPlan Health membership?

No.  When you cancel your AmeriPlan Health membership all services associated with it ceases.  This includes AmeriPlan Dental Plus and all AmeriPlan Health program.

God forbid you should ever be in the situation to have to make that decision, but if you just saved $12,000 on one visit to the emergency room.  I think it’s safe to say it pays to keep your AmeriPlan Health memership card in your purse/wallet.

If you don’t have one yet… Get one now!

How soon can an AmeriPlan Health member access the hospital patient advocacy services?

    June 25, 2008

Again, great question.  You must be an AmeriPlan Health member for at least 3 business days before you can utilize AmeriPlan’s incredible patient advocacy program.

It used to be that a person could sign up for AmeriPlan Health while they were on the way to the hospital or even in the hospital waiting room. But that has changed recently.

I’ve actually had an AmeriPlan Dental Plus member call my cell phone while I was at a special training at the AmeriPlan Corporate office, asking if I would upgrade them because they were sitting in the emergency room and were about to be admitted to the hospital for an emergency surgery.

I kindly excused myself from the other conversation I was in, got to the hotel computer down stairs, and upgraded them that moment.  They were admitted, had the surgery and saved thousands of dollars.

That was then… You can still upgade at anytime but you can’t use the AmeriPlan patient advocacy program for 3 business days.
